Greetings all,
It's been a busy week for me and I had planned to do something else for the activity of the month (my apologies for not posting this earlier). However, I've decided due to time constraints to go a different direction here instead. I'll cover more on that in a moment and I'll save the other for next session.
I recently spoke to Kirgs about the writing activity and I'm posting this on his behalf. Our Writing PC and his wife are busy getting settled into their new home. Again I say congrats to both of you. Anyway, on to the matter at hand which is an open fiction writing activity. Which is on point with what GEN Skyy did recently with her character in her book. To quote Kirgs:
"Write a story about your character outside of the Star Wars universe". For example, if I wanted to write a story about Kirghy as a character in a fantasy story. Genre really wouldn't matter (fantasy, mystery, historical fiction, even something Tom Clancy-esque).
Also know if you wish to stay SW related you may do so as well. However, this is a great opportunity for you all to stretch your creative wings and have fun with it. Obviously remember keep things respectable as I know you all will. I've said it before, we have some of the most talented writers here in the RS.
It's really an honor to be amongst such talented and creative writers. In recent years we've fallen away from our writing, even myself as well. It's my hope get those creative fires burning again, so let's start here and see where it leads. There nothing like being able to feed of the scenes others paint and it's time to get back to it.
Now remember, I mentioned the activity of the month earlier had changed from my original plan. Well that's because the writing activity in this session is the AotM and that's not all. As an added bonus, the top three stories will get bonus points as well, and here’s how it breaks down:
3 pts to the Aurora Cup Winner
2 pts for second
1 pt for third
So with that said, let the fun begin and let your imagination take flight. A forum post will be open to post your stories soon, and good luck to all.
Also, Session XVI will be extended by an additional week due to the 4th of July holiday in the U.S. I know a lot of us will be scattered all over the country, BBQing with family and friends, and the launch of the next session would be delayed because of this. The extra week will give people outside the U.S. the chance to play and report as normal.
