Session Briefing

Pirate activity has been on an uptick during our last few operations, so we are staging several missions to deal with this issue. In addition, we have several training missions to help keep your skills sharp, and a ground deployment opportunity as well.

Mission 1: Standard Patrol Operations - Aurek Sector
Mission 2: Sentinel Company Operations
Mission 3: On-Going Intelligence Training
Mission 4: Raid on Pirate Base
Mission 5: Base Raid Report

Mission 1: Standard Patrol Operations - Aurek Sector

The CRS McGrath will be launching an A-Wing patrol of Aurek Sector, which will sweep through Sectors Aurek-14 and Aurek-16. All pilots who can provide assistance are requested.

Mission Type: This is a custom X-Wing: Alliance mission. Fly it on your chosen difficulty level, noting the scoring below. Turn invulnerability off, unlimited ammunition off, and collisions on.

Scoring: One point will be awarded for a mission report at any difficulty level. Two points will be awarded for a mission complete at the medium difficulty level. Three points will be awarded for a mission complete at the hard difficulty level.

Mission 2: Sentinel Company Operations

Sentinel Company will be continuing their ongoing operations against pirates throughout Republic Shield sectors. To join in on their operations, be sure to attend the orientation session this Thursday, 8 January 2015, at 6PM EST, in the chatroom #Allegience. Scoring: One point will be awarded for participating in a sim with Sentinel Company. Three points will be awarded to any GM who hosts a Sentinel Company sim.

Reporting: Game masters should report who participates (name and PIN) to FA Raven. FA Raven will forward the consolidated list of participants and GMs to the Operations Office for scoring.

Mission 3: On-Going Intelligence Training

The XO has prepared a series of knowledge quizzes on various intelligence topics that will be released on a weekly basis. Staying sharp on this knowledge can help to keep you and your squadmates alive. To participate, just complete the quizzes (without checking your notes!) each time they are released.

Scoring: One point will be awarded to everyone who participates in at least three of the four quizzes released this session. Two points will be awarded to anyone who answers at least six questions right on three or more quizzes. Three points will be awarded to anyone who scores perfectly across all four quizzes.

Mission 4: Raid on Pirate Base

Pilot assistance is needed in an assault on a pirate base we have located. A transport will be escorted in and will capture the base.

Mission Type: This is a custom mission for the X-Wing Miniatures Game. Play it in accordance with the Rules of Engagement posted below. Scoring: One point will be awarded for any player participating in an X-Wing Miniatures match (either side). Two points will be awarded for a report of partial victory (either side). Three points will be awarded for a report of complete victory (either side). If multiple reports are submitted for a single member, the best outcome will be used to award points for the leaderboard. Other awards may be made by the Task Force Leader for members showing exceptional performance over the session.

Mission 5: Base Raid Report

Commandos are also needed to assist with the assault on the pirate base. These commandos will ride the transport into battle and seize the base.

Mission Type: This is a fiction writing activity. Write up a narrative of no less than 500 words describing the commando raid on the pirate base described above. You may use your own character or write a different character. Post your narrative in the new "Other Fiction Writing" forum on the RS Forums.

Scoring: One point will be awarded for any narrative submitted. Other awards may be made for exceptional reports, but only one point for the club leaderboard will be awarded.
