From the desk of the Fleet Commander
Attention Rebel Squadrons,
Congratulations on an excellent session as we wrap up Hammerfall: Aurora Rising. We saw excellent participation throughout the fleet and had several nights of intraclub competition. Well done!
As an aside, several administrative guidelines and general rules are being posted as Fleet Commander Directives over the next few weeks. Look for:
- Interactive Tour of Duty and the Leaderboard
- Squadron Commanding Officers
- Task Force Leaders
- The Operations Officer
It is our hope that these documents will help our membership understand the different roles of the command staff and help illuminate how the session scores are calculated.
Sincerely,
ADM Cyrel Vandroth
Rebel Squadrons Fleet Commander
Personnel Officer Announced
It came to our attention that we failed to announce the position of Personnel Officer being filled! MGN Kimiao Quinal has returned to active duty to help us manage awards and commendations for the RS. Task Force Leaders, if you have any ideas for new medals for your activities, get in touch with Kimiao.
As a reminder, any member of the RS may nominate anyone for a medal (Select ‘My Menu’ from the right hand Nav-Bar and then ‘Medal Nominations’ under ‘Tools’).
Command Staff Position Open!
We are still looking for someone interested in taking on the role of Operations Officer! It’s a critical role for the smooth operation of events in the RS, but we encourage anyone regardless of experience to apply. We’re happy to show you the ropes, all you have to bring to the table is a desire to improve the RS for everyone and a willingness to put in the effort.

That said, someone: please stop them! Their collective ego (especially Stark’s) is already causing the Redemption to list to starboard whenever they’re aboard.

This session 1lt Gavin Devearoux managed to run away with the game by earning a whopping 48 ITOD points compared to runners up Lucas Benoit-Stark a.k.a. IronMan (34) and Danny “David Lee Japan” Qatar a.k.a. Codyman (25). Way to go Gavin! You hereby earn the RS ITOD Top Gun award for Hammerfall - Aurora Rising.
Personnel Office - Commendations and Awards
Gavin “Skyhammer” Devearoux - You have done extremely well: your outstanding efforts in encouraging activity, your high score in the ITOD, simming, and overall Leaderboard Activity score of 346.6 points, and the top ITOD score: we have awarded you the RS Activity Top Gun, RS ITOD Top Gun, Citation of Victory x2, and an Iridium Spire.
Personnel Officer’s note: “The Iridium Spire’s award was due not only to your outstanding contribution for the month but the way in which you have attempted to get other people to participate and get involved with RS gaming, which is to your credit.”
FA Qatar had this to say: “For helping to get Armada up and running, helping teach people to play it, and always being around for various other gaming opportunities. Your continued efforts have helped increase both the RS's gaming platforms and overall activity across games/simming/writing/etc.”
Danny "David Lee Japan" Qatar a.k.a. Codyman- For your Mobile Gaming MVP and notable score on the Leaderboard, we award you a Citation of Victory and a Merit Commendation. Keep up the good work Fleet Admiral.
Personnel Officer’s note: “You continue to provide contributions in the form of the Star Wars mobile gaming, SWG, SW-minis and your report writing has been of a high standard that I have enjoyed catching up on.”
For being the only pilot to achieve a negative score in the most recent XWA mission yet still having the gumption to submit your report, we are awarding you a Violet Cluster. Whilst you did not have your greatest day in the cockpit, you made it back to fight another day. Better luck next time!
Lucas “IronMan” Benoit-Stark - Your joint top MVP for Simming and your MVP for Zealot writing is a real credit to you. As such we award you Citation of Victory x2 and a Merit Commendation.
Personnel Officer’s note: “It is refreshing to see you leading sims and engaging in your own storyline. Game Masters know that writing a sim is very difficult, a task which is time-consuming and difficult to create a solid and plausible story. I am glad to see you having a real crack at this over the past couple ITOD’s.”
You are hereby awarded an Alvace Star to highlight your contribution across multiple ITOD’s. We look forward to reading more of your work, Admiral.
Michael Raven - For your joint MVPs in Simming, Zealot Writing, and your stand-alone MVP for non-Zealot Writing, and excellent score on the Activity Leaderboard we award you 3x Citation of Victories and a Merit Commendation.
Personnel Officer’s note: “You continue to make fantastic contributions to Simming spanning multiple years, your campaign is engaging and made me want to return to the fold once again with its cliffhanger like prose. Your writing alongside Admiral Stark’s is inspiring and I’ve really enjoyed introducing people at work to the stories you mould and generate, the characters growing and the situations they find themselves in.”
For your ongoing contributions to the Simming activity, you are hereby awarded a Distinguished Service Cross. Congratulations, Fleet Admiral.
Galen McGrath - You’ve engaged in and been a large part of this ITOD. You’ve been involved in multiple areas as demonstrated by your score on the Leaderboard and we are keen to recognise your contribution, please accept this Merit Commendation.
Licah Fox - For your MVP in XWA we award you a Citation of Victory and we also award you a Merit Commendation for your excellent performance killing a Star Destroyer and a top score of 10,000+ (4 times more than the next pilot).

IV. Mission Briefing - Hammerfall - Phyrrhic Victory
-=Rebel Squadrons’ Command Complex, Tarsonis, 0800 Local Time=-
Already several hours into a status briefing, Fleet Admiral Vandroth rubbed his tired eyes before taking a swig out of a steaming mug of caf that’d been placed in front of him moments before. The news coming in from the front lines in Aurora was, shockingly, positive. With the invasion of Lithra over, and a massive Titan counterattack at Aurora repelled, it seemed that the invaders had decided to completely abandon the nebula, allowing the RS to begin the process of rebuilding the sector. Dozens of Titan support ships and a handful of capital ships had been caught by a battle group led by the Prometheus II with nearly no RS casualties, cementing the RS’ hold of Lithra. Meanwhile, fighter squadrons led by elements of Diamond and Red Dagger successfully discovered and destroyed several picket fleets the Imperials were attempting to use to probe RS defenses. The combined efforts had cut off their ability to effectively mount offensive operations across the sector. Cyrel nodded approvingly.
“About bloody time. Now tha’ we cannae shift our focus from Aurora, we should be able to bolster tha’ defenses elsewhere.”
“Well,” Director Hawkins sighed as he looked down at his datapad, lamenting the fact that nobody ever let him finish before chiming in. “There are two complications, sir.”
“Oh?”
“First, we’ve completely dropped the ball in Minos. As they were leaving Aurora, pretty much every vessel we scared off instead of destroyed swung into our flank there, overwhelmed *everything*. It’s virtually gone. The only fortunate thing is that it was mostly mining, and we have a glut of resources; very few colonized worlds were lost, and we were able to get most of our assets out.”
“...Oh.”
“Second, we need to deal with a domestic issue. We now know what is up with our little mole issue. One of our operatives managed to raid a Titan COMM relay, and found information that potentially exonerates Ginofev. You’ve got it on your console.” Director Hawkins leaned back, tapping a command into his console to send the requisite files to the Fleet Commander.
“Well, ain’t tha’ a bitch…”
Past Results
Writing - Zealot - Minor Victory - At least one target eliminated this session.
Writing - Non-Zealot - Minor Victory - The Titan Forces around Lithra have been obliterated, and we no longer have to worry about reprisal attacks.
Simming - Stalemate - The ABG has managed to go blow for blow with Titan forces but no advantages were gained. (All ABG Side Projects and Businesses have their production reduced by 20% for one week.)
SWG - RS Loss - Titan takes the Minos Cluster
Mobile Gaming - Major Victory - Your assault team takes the ship with minor casualties, data cores provide great intel on Titan Fleet’s next potential moves, the ship is operable and taken.
X-Wing Miniatures - Major Victory - The RS overwhelmed and silenced Titan’s outer picket forces before they were able to retreat. A resounding victory with very minimal casualties on the RS side. Defending Aurora will be easier next session.
XWA - Minor Victory - Supply is interrupted enough to leave the Titan strike force open to an RS assault next session.
XVT - RS Loss - Next session, the RS is blind to EH movements in the Sluis sector.
EaW - Major Victory - Lithra's orbital AND ground defenses are bolstered against a potential Titan strike.
Hammerfall - Pyrrhic Victory
-=Republic-class Star Destroyer Reliant, Bethlamore Orbit=-
“...Therefore we will be dispatching commando squads to the suspected locations of the Titan’s resupply stations, in an attempt to positively identify and infiltrate one to get information on the whereabouts of the vessel herself.” The briefing officer continued, talking to the arrayed commandos of Sentinel Company.
“We’re being tasked with the most likely of these locations,” he activated a star chart, highlighting a red sector of space just off the Rimma Trade Route, south of Bethlamore. “A suspected station somewhere in this area of space. Alpha Squad,” he nodded at Nox Gammon, the squadron commander, “will be on point, with Beta on standby in case things get hairy.”
“Command is having us start to hunt her down, folks. Our mission over the next few months will be to pinpoint her location, choke her out of supplies, and eventually attack her full on. We’re the spearhead. We’ll identify her supply chain, and knock it out. I can’t stress this mission enough… if we can’t take out the Titan, we’re going to lose this war… Dismissed.”

Leaderboard
Overseeing officer: ADM Cyrel Vandroth
As the RS’s war against the invading Imperial forces rages on, one truth remains constant: pilots keep track. Kills, bombers shot down, times they narrowly avoided certain death, all of them have some kind of running tally or another and for the best of the best, it’s a point of pride to be number one.

Task Force Republic Shield finds itself in a familiar sector, Aurora, a historic location in the annals of RS history. Titan’s vise-like grip has siphoned RS information and intelligence, which has provided a strategic advantage exploited by their forces. Now, under the direction of Fleet Commander, Cyrel Vandroth, Task Force Republic Shield moves to use that confiscated information as a smokescreen to lure Titan’s spies into a trap while they seek to patch up the damage.
Participant Overall Objective: Create and/or update your personal and/or character sheet on the RS Wiki page (rswiki.rebelsquadrons.org).

Objective: At least 20 hours of total sims reported. (( 3 characters + 1 GM count as 4 hours per every hour they participate. ))
Minor RS Victory: The ABG inches their way closer, intercepting vital Intel on the next Titan target. ((During one week, players can choose a single side project or business that uses a 1d100 and count that roll as a 90. Players can only use this before they choose to roll.))
Objective: 40 Hours of sims reported, 5 hours of character sims reported.
Major RS Victory: Vast amounts of intel are gained through the intercepting of Titan agents, captured by the ABG and met for interrogation. Through their information, the RS gains critical ground on an otherwise formidable foe. ((Income for all side projects and business are doubled for one week. Players must choose to apply this bonus before they begin rolling. This does not double losses from random rolls.))
