ITOD: IBG 103: Attack on Imperal Patrol
Briefing
- When our team began exploring the Interdictor, they found a surprise in the docking bay. The normal squadron of TIE Interceptors that an Interdictor cruiser carries was not there, and in it's place were 6 TIE Defenders. This is the first time we have captured one of these starfighters intact, and Engineering is working flat out to get them ready for flight. As you know the TIE Defender is one of the most versatile and powerful starfighters ever designed, and could be of great use to us.
As a result, the six pilots with the most experience in TIE's have been selected to fly these ships in combat. The first mission they will be used for is to destroy an Imperial patrol which is heading in our direction. They are still some distance away, but will eventually find us. Intelligence hopes that destroying them before they get close to us will serve to confuse the Imperials about our current location.
The patrol is made up of a squadron of Assault Gunboats and three modified Corellian Corvettes. They should be no match for 6 T/D's armed with advanced proton torpedoes, but no ships must escape to hyperspace to tell the Imperials that we have captured the TIE's.
