ITOD: XvT 404: Intervention
Briefing
- The raid on the Imperial outpost in the last mission was a success despite the unexpected starfighter defenses. The strike team was able to recover much of the data contained within the computer banks before being forced to leave. Among that data were the coordinates for another, similar outpost in this sector.
Given the additional defenses provided by the hyperspace-capable drone fighters it's clear that these 'abandoned' outposts are not forgotten by the Empire, which we've been able to confirm. Long range sensor scans have revealed some unusual energy signatures and the presence of at least one capital ship. Rather than attempt another boarding operation we're simply going to destroy the outpost.
The assault will consist of End of Days and eight starfighters while the Assessor and Squall will remain outside the mission area. In the event this is a trap we don't want our more vulnerable assets in the line of fire.
