In his stateroom on the command ship, LCL Brig Dolaree woke up with a start. Brig had been having nightmares recently. Ever since reporting back for duty, Brig would dream of things that had occurred during his previous service in the RS. This evening was no exception. Brig nightmare of the night consisted of memories of a mission flown against pirates. Brig was dreaming of those two Corellian gunship’s that near annihilated his squadron as the Alliance was attempting to eliminate all pirates in the sector. The gunship’s had come in together running a parallel course supporting each other with their turrets. Brig remembered going in and getting his xwing pounded and having to break off, needing to hyperspace out to seek repairs. Just as Brig was about to make the jump to light speed a Twing appeared out of nowhere and shot him down with a missile. As he felt his body burning and then go ice cold is when Brig woke with a start.

Damn! What mission was that? Brig got into the shower to clean up and looked at the time. It was still late, but Brig no there would be no more sleep this evening. Well, since I cant remember what mission that was I should dig through my flight logs. LCL Dolaree spent the next two hours searching, but could not find a mission that matched his dreams. Brig thought to himself I remember all this happening, but why cant I find my pilot record of this mission. Brig laid back down and thought about it. Another hour later, it was still to late (or to early depending on your point of view) for Brig to get up and do anything productive. Brig decided to go back to his pilot log and review all his training missions. After 15 minutes of looking, Brig found the record he was looking for.

Brig thought to himself, I cannot believe I lost sleep over a simulated training mission that I did when I first joined up. As Brig got back into bed to go back to sleep, the alert siren began wailing. All pilots to the briefing room sounded over the public address system. Brig put on his flight suit and bolted to make the briefing. Kirghy gave the briefing. The fleet was hitting a pirate base, and backup was needed now! Since the primary fighter opposition would consist of T-wings and R-41 star chasers which were notoriously weak against missiles, all craft would be armed with the advanced missile system.

Brig ran to the flight deck with the rest of the pilots and got into a B wing. Brigs crew chief informed him that his ship was ready to go. The squadron took off and immediately made the jump to light speed. Upon arrival the squadron took to killing as many fighters as they could. One shot one kill with missals made short work of the fighter opposition.

Wait! Brigs heart just about stopped, two Corellian gunships were closing in. Just like Brig’s dream. Luckily, they were taken down fast by the combined numbers of fighters. Brig did not even get a chance to take a shot at them they went down so fast.

Brig turned to a Nebulon B and took it out. The battle then grew strangely quiet. All enemy opposition was eliminated. All fighters turned on the platform and cargo canisters making short work of the base. Some Escort shuttles and a Corellian gunship tried to make an escape, but they were all disabled and boarded, taking their pirate crews captive. The mission was accomplished.

At the end of the battle, Brig found that he had 19 kills, 11 R-41’s, 4 Twings. 3 CN/J’s, and 1 Nebulon Frigate. Brig successfully returned from yet another battle, and was finally able to fall asleep without the nightmares returning.
