Rebel Squadrons
Person: FA Michael Raven
Medal: Distinguished Service Cross

Date: April 10, 2008
Nominated by: FA Sienn "The Rot" Sconn
Awarded by: FA Kaz Falcion
Reason for nomination: In previous years, a departing FC is typically showered with medals nominations, and occasionally promotions on their way out. This nomination is not a matter of tradition; but rather a representation of my belief that the nominated, Michael Raven, performed excellently during his term as RSFC and deserves to be recognized for this with one of the RS's highest honors. Since I've had enough of HC discussion for this week, I'm submitting this on behalf of HC -- I defy the possibility of a member dissenting. Thanks for the great work, Mike.
Comments by awarding officer: Not sure I could say it any better than Sconn already has. Congratulations!

Nominated by: FA Cyrel Vandroth
Awarded by: FA Sienn "The Rot" Sconn
Reason for nomination: Raven,

You are one of the most humble individuals in the RS. Despite all that you put forth for this club, you rarely if ever ask for praise for the, quite frankly, amazing things that you do. We have had the honor of your leadership in the ABG for something on the order of five years, and for that length of time, the ABG has never ceased improving, maturing, and growing into the reason why I remain in the RS to this day.

This work has not gone unnoticed by some of your friends and comrades that have worked alongside you these past several years. We have seen you almost literally bleed for this division, we have felt your stress, your anger, and have reaped the benefits of your presence. Most noticeably, you have finished what became the Unholy Alliance campaign, something that has been over three years in the making. A feat UNMATCHED by any ABG GM in the history of the division.

I am aware that you already have this medal for your tenure as FCO of the Rebel Squadrons, but I consider it an affront that you have not yet received something, specifically, from us, for contributions that we honestly value just as much if not more. It is on behalf of the ABG as a Wing CO, and as your friend, to nominate you for the Distinguished Service Cross.

":)
Comments by awarding officer: Agreed and thusly awarded by wave of the FC's hand. Congrats, Mike.

Reason for nomination: Fleet Admiral Michael Raven, front and center! Raven, you have served as the Logistics Officer, the RPG Coordinator, and the Arbitrator during my time as the RSFC. As Arbitrator, you have helped me immensely by handling numerous complex situations, freeing me to focus on other issues. Further, no matter who is the Arbitrator in the future, I know that they will look to your example. As such, it is my great pleasure to award you the Distinguished Service Cross for your time as the Arbitrator. Thank you for everything.
Comments by awarding officer: Raven, thanks for everything. I appreciate it. -Lamin

Nominated by: COL Teu Veld
Awarded by: FA Cyrel Vandroth
Reason for nomination: There are times in a community that disagreement comes up between members; many times those disagreements can be solved between just those involved. At times however there needs to be a third party who is unbiased and will come to an equal and fair judgement, Michael Raven is one such person. Recently he has been called upon several matters as Arbitrator; he has set and maintained standards so that fairness is preserved. His investigations are transparent and in-depth, while maintaining an unbiased view on the proceedings until all evidence is maintained. His due diligence allows matters to be quickly, fairly and justly handled for this reason I am recommending him a Distinguished Service Cross for his continued service to the Rebel Squadrons as a whole for his work as Arbitrator. Teu Veld RSXO.
Comments by awarding officer: Raven, I continue to be impressed at your ability to remain impartial and handle particularly difficult cases in a fair and expedient manner. I whole heartedly approve this nomination, and thank you for your continued service.

Awarded by: MGN Kimiao Quinal
Reason for nomination: Personnel Officer’s note: “You continue to make fantastic contributions to Simming spanning multiple years, your campaign is engaging and made me want to return to the fold once again with its cliffhanger like prose. Your writing alongside Admiral Stark’s is inspiring and I’ve really enjoyed introducing people at work to the stories you mould and generate, the characters growing and the situations they find themselves in.”

For your ongoing contributions to the Simming activity, you are hereby awarded a Distinguished Service Cross. Congratulations, Fleet Admiral.
