VSG 306a: Destroy the SSD Tyrannic (IBG 106)
▼ Briefing
This is our chance to destroy most of the Imperial capital ships in this sector, and also gives us the chance to use our captured Interdictor. According to the data we obtained, the SSD Tyrannic is in the final stages of its construction at this time. While it is being worked on, it is extremely vulnerable as it cannot raise it's shields. The Imperials have therefore placed most of their sector fleet around the construction area to guard against attack. To overcome this difficulty, Fleet Command has devised a 3 stage plan to destroy the Imperials.
1. The INT Silencer will hyper into the area first to prevent any ships escaping. Accompanying it will be 4 Modified Corvettes, who will defend it from Imperial starfighter attacks and will also jam all communications so that the Imperials cannot summon help.
2. We expect that the Imperials will send several capital ships to destroy the INT. Before they can reach it, most of our fleet will drop out of hyperspace between them and the INT, and will begin to engage them. Once the Imperials attention is concentrated on those ships, the Mon Cal cruisers Liberty, Defiance and Freedom will drop out hyperspace behind the SSD, along with the rest of the fleet. They will first destroy any remaining Imperial ships in the area and will then begin attacking the SSD.
3. Once the SSD has been destroyed, all ships will concentrate on the remaining Imperial capital ships. We want to destroy as many as possible before we hit the main shipyards.

Extremely fun flying around all those big ships. Only thing was the home ship taking off without me because I was out mopping up imp pilots. I'm sadistic, it can't be helped. Anyway without a way to end the mission normally I dive bombed Odin. Asside from having to go kamakazi to finish I loved how the mission felt.

Simple concept for a mission. Though can be quite difficult if you charge at the Star Destroyers. With as many Capitol Ships you would be able to reload your warheads, though I could have easily missed this. Also no Y-Wings, I know the B-Wing was meant to replace them, but even during this time the New Republic did continue to use Y-Wings as they were still useful in missions such as these. Plus you have A-Wings and X-Wings dealing with the fighters. Great and exciting mission though it left out somethings that would've made this a little easier or at least give some diversity you could say.
