Greetings, Members of the RS. ":)

And welcome to this special State of the RS Address. I have the great pleasure of announcing to you that the Rebel Squadrons now has official uniforms for the first time in its history. Uniforms have long been a dream, and now it is finally a reality! To cover these new uniforms, the FC has comissioned a Uniform Officer to serve on his staff. The first RS Uniform Officer is Vice Admiral Dev.

Without further ado, I direct your attention to the new Uniform Office at http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/uniforms/ Uniforms will be created on a request basis, so go to that page and then proceed to "Requests" to put in for your uniform. I'd also like to introduce you to the general layout of the uniforms.

We'll use General Rahj Tharen's uniform as an example: http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/uniforms/viewuniform.php3?pin=133 The first thing you will notice is that his uniform is olive green. This color indicates a commando. The other available colors are blue for pilots, and grey for fleet officers. On the collar of Rahj's uniform, you will notice a line of stars. These are the position indicators. There are indicators for Squad CO/XO's, Wing CO/XO's, Fleet CO/XO's, and the Executive staff. On the sash are the Fleet patches. The rank insignia is at the top right on the shoulder, and beneath that are ribbons for the majority of majors. Directly below these rows of ribbons are a few medals that are shown with full dangly as well. Only the most prestigious medals are shown in full: the Kessel Cup, New Republic Medal of Honor, Tatooine Suns, and Excellency of Service.

So go request your uniform today! When it is done, it will be uploaded and visible through your profile on the roster database. Lastly, there are several people the FC would like to thank who's contributions made this project possible. Lieutenant Colonel Ben Jynzer, for providing the position indicators, Colonel Daemon Jorval for the rank insignia and original templates, Vice Admiral Dev for putting all the pieces together into something that worked as well as creating the Uniform Office page, Lieutenant General Shikkie Kaaran for the database coding, General Rahj Tharen for coordinating with the FC on the design, and finally all the individual fleets who supplied their own patches. Thanks to all, and on behalf of all these people, we hope you enjoy the uniforms!

In High Command news, the past month saw the resignation of Lieutenant General Stallion as well as the appointment of his replacement, LCL Jake Blues. High Command has been taking a short break recently. For other High Command news, I direct you to read the High Command Weekly Newsflashes.

High Command has also asked me to release a statement on Star Wars Galaxies, so as to avoid confusion. As of this point, the RS has no intention of beginning a SWG division so early on. History has taught us that LucasArts tends to release later rather than earlier, or even on time. As the time for the game's release draws closer, the RS will of course be organizing its own official division for SWG.

Outer Rim War continues every saturday in #OuterRim on the Innernet! Go and fight for the club! Recently, the RS captured the Elenian system. Lets keep up the good work!

Finally, an announcement from Admiral Castor regarding Grey Squadron:
"Grey Squadron is nearing the end of it's first Battle in a tour that will run almost into the summer of 2002, and will soon be closed to new membership. If you've been considering joining, now is the time. If you've been dropped, you're more than welcome to come back, provided that you make up the mission that you've missed. Fictionally, Grey is about to go live, and will soon be up to it's neck in intrigue and drama. Only six missions into our 27 mission tour, our story has already reached 127 pages (67,000 words) and is expected to be over 600 pages by the end. The Grey site can be found at:
http://rebelsquadrons.org/rc/grey/index.htm
Legally, though, I'm required to give you this warning. Our Squadron Motto is: 'You'd be surprised what you can live through - unless you're Grey.' "

That's it for this month, everybody. Sorry for the length of this note. Thank you all for making this club the best it can be!

Reach for the stars, and you will find that you can often catch them!

":)
