RSCD NL 11-26-02

Welcome to the last NL of November!
Since I’ll be leaving later today until Friday morning, I’d first like to wish everyone in the Commando Division a safe and happy Thanksgiving in advance. This week the news will be a bit light, with a few event reminders and the announcement of a new appointment.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Dragon named XO

In the past week’s biggest piece of news, Colonel Isoldur “Dragon” Cauthon has been selected as the new Commando Division XO. Dragon’s a long-time member who’s brought about some big things through his work as RS Operations Officer, so I know we can expect more good things from him in the future. Congratulations Dragon..

ORW II

The RS continued it’s dominance Saturday, pulling in the first victory in the Hanguur System of the Binaural Sector. With the EH making a strong showing each week in the space battles, the RS has been relying once more on it’s ground force to help achieve victory. What this means is that now more than ever we need as many RSCD members as possible to come out and participate in the ORWII battles. If you’ve only got time for a single match or you can just stay 5 minutes to cheer the RS on, any amount of help will be greatly appreciated. All RSCD members participating will earn merit points as well as being eligible for medals, so there’s plenty of incentive to play.

For those who need the reminder, the ORWII battles take place each Saturday from 2-11pm EST in #OuterRim on the Undernet network. For more information on the event, please visit http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/outerrim2/

RSCD ITOD

The RSCD ITOD storyline continues, and I’d like to once more stress that all members of the Commando Division are eligible to participate, whether or not they own JK or JO. There’s still plenty of time to take on one of the current missions available, so if you’re interested, you can find out more at http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/rscd/itod/

House Merit Points
As of now, here’s a look at the top three members:

Colonel Isoldur “Dragon” Cauthon-            47 [[Initiate of Kalran]]
Vice Admiral Kaz Falcion-                               38 [[Initiate of Kalran]]
Admiral Rahj Tharen-                                           32 [[Initiate of Kalran]]

Academy Trainers Needed!-

We’re in desperate need of volunteers willing to bring in the next generation of Commandos. As a trainer, your duties would be helping new recruits through their Academy graduation process, and helping to answer any general questions they may have about the RS or RSCD. If you’re willing to volunteer some of your time to help us out, I ask you to email both myself and Dragon at your earliest convenience. If you help out, I’m sure we’ll be able to find a way to reward your hard work, so let’s see some volunteers.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
Closing-

As I said earlier, I’ll be gone from tonight until the day after Thanksgiving…..and since I unfortunately work in retail I’ll be far from able to do much that day, so Dragon will be in charge of things until I return on Saturday. So once again, Happy Thanksgiving everyone and I’ll see you all next week.
