The Cross of Recau is a merit handed to those that earn the RSCD CO's respect with their actions. This may be awarded years later by old CO's for those they remember well. Or by new CO's to old commanders who earned it. Recau III was a massacre, where the brave escaped, where the best leaders came forward. So it is only handed to the best.
